The Actor Awards, formerly the Screen Actors Guild Awards, rolled out a night of red-carpet glamour inspired by Hollywood of the 1920s and 1930s. Partnering with Elle magazine, the evening promised vintage sparkle, but many stars played it safe, sticking mostly to classic diamonds. There were, however, jaw-dropping exceptions. Kate Hudson stunned in a one-of-a-kind Desert Diamonds high jewelry suite by Emily P. Wheeler, crafted exclusively for this appearance. Viola Davis and Gwyneth Paltrow brought pops of color, while dramatic earrings ruled the carpet on Calista Flockhart, Keri Russell, and Michelle Monaghan. The men mostly stuck to brooches, keeping it safe as well. Scroll down to see our favorite looks.

TEYANA TAYLOR: Neck iced in 47 carats of Schlumberger diamonds, ears clipped in Three Leaves and fingers stacked with bees and a Bird on a Rock, Teyana proved her Tiffany era is not ending anytime soon.

KATE HUDSON: Every diamond, every detail, entirely original and made just for this moment, Kate Hudson wore Desert diamond high jewelry by Emily P. Wheeler. Crafted with stylist Sophie Lopez, this fully bespoke suite may be the first of its scale ever made for a red carpet.

KERI RUSSELL: Keri Russell’s red carpet blueprint: dangling earrings in 18-karat white gold set with 220 round brilliant-cut diamonds and a cocktail ring with a 23-carat cabochon tanzanite and round brilliant-cut diamonds by Buccellati. Total? $223K of pure sparkle.

ALI LARTER: Landman star Ali Larter skipped the dainty diamonds and went full edge in Repossi, stacking a Berbere necklace, featuring a series of discs in the label’s signature, darkened gold that was encrusted with 2,000 diamonds, totaling 40 carats, with a Blast bracelet at the Actors Awards. Minimal dress, maximum bite.

SOFIA CARSON: Sofia Carson let her ears do the talking in Chopard’s 18k rose gold Ouroboros earrings, coiled in 133 carats of brown diamonds with a wink of onyx. Diamonds with bite.

NATASHA ROTHWELL: You think the red carpet is predictable? Then you haven’t seen White Lotus star Natasha Rothwell in Mindi Mond New York.

VIOLA DAVIS: All hail Viola Davis, who turned the red carpet into her own emerald empire in Pasquale Bruni’s diamond drenched Goddess Garden necklace and Heart to Earth set. Subtle was not invited.

CHLOÉ ZHAO: $85K Tiffany & Co.: Hamnet director Chloé Zhao went full venom with Elsa Peretti’s yellow-gold and diamond Scorpion necklace.

GWYNETH PALTROW: We love a rebel. While the red carpet drowned in diamonds, Gwyneth Paltrow went bold in Belperron, rocking turquoise and black enamel circa 1930.

CHASE INFINITI: Giving Josephine Baker a modern rewrite, Chase Infiniti wowed in custom Louis Vuitton with a 1920s style mesh head ornament and headline grabbing De Beers gems.

MICHELLE MONAGHAN: When the ears doing all the talking. Michelle Monaghan’s Sabyasachi diamond and morganite chandeliers stole the show at every turn.

CHASE SUI WONDERS: Another colored jewelry moment we can’t stop thinking about: Chase’s ruby and diamond Actor Awards jewels from Tiffany. Bird on a Rock by Tiffany necklace in platinum and 18k gold set with a 12-carat rubellite, diamond and rubellite earrings totaling over 33 carats and a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Butterfly ring with a rubellite of over 9 carats.

FIONA DOURIF: If you’re taking notes on layering, Fiona Dourif’s Lagos SML high jewelry of sapphires, emeralds, and green tourmaline stacked just right, is your textbook moment.

ISA BRIONES: The Pitt star paired a Dior necklace (vintage, sourced by her stylist) with Beladora jewels, including a $3,850 white opal and diamond ring, diamond bangle and an $8,000 diamond bracelet.”

KRISTEN BELL: Every glance landed on a diamond. Bell, host of the evening, wore the Night Owl suite and Exotic Charm ring, all from Messika, becoming the sparkle everyone came for.

ALEXANDRA METZ: Alexandra Metz channeled classic Hollywood with LAGOS SML High Jewelry, 18K Caviar Gold and Fizz collections. The Pitt actress also turned a mystery rope chain complete with gilt tassels into a brilliant headpiece.

SHERYL LEE RALPH: Sheryl Lee Ralph didn’t just follow the ’20s dress code, she wrote the syllabus. Abbott Elementary’s star gleamed in De Beers diamonds from ears to wrist, proving old Hollywood sparkle is very much alive.

CALISTA FLOXHART: Diamond feathers totaling 11.35 carats by Leviev made Calista Flockhart’s ears the main event of the red carpet.
THE MEN: Turns out the men’s jewelry moment was exclusive to brooches this year. Everyone played it painfully safe with no bracelets and no unexpected pops of sparkle. We were hoping for a little playful flair, maybe a surprise or unexpected jewelry placement, but alas, diamonds reigned supreme and the looks stayed firmly classic. Here is hoping the Oscars on March 15 give the men a chance to loosen up and bring a little more drama to the red carpet.

PAUL MESCAL: Look closer. Paul Mescal’s cravat hides a little secret: a $11,000 C de Cartier safety pin in diamonds topped with an emerald cabochon.

JEREMY ALLEN WHITE: The Bear star made the top pocket the main event. Jeremy Allen-White’s The Back Vault diamond bow bar proved small details can steal the spotlight.

CONNOR STORRIE: Heated Rivalry hottie Connor Storrie showed up in a $509K Tiffany Victoria Mixed Cluster necklace like he’d been doing it all his life. Add in T1 hoops, Schlumberger Stitches ring, and the carpet didn’t stand a chance.

RUFUS SEWELL: Even a star like Rufus Sewell knows the power of the right pin. Emerald, fancy vivid yellow, and white diamonds in a Stephen Silver Pagoda Jabot made his red carpet moment unforgettable.

ORLANDO BLOOM: Orlando Bloom’s lapel wasn’t bare. A white gold and diamond Ghirlanda brooch by Pasquale Bruni brought just enough sparkle to steal a glance.

ZACK FOX: Flower power meets a little sting. Zack Fox wore an Anabela Chan Daisy diamond brooch alongside a Le Vian chocolate diamond bumblebee, making the Actor Awards a hive of style.
