Jewelry Details from Jeremy Scott, Prabal Gurung and Brandon Maxwell Spring 2020 RTW Collections

JEREMY SCOTT: Can’t you tell that Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth, Jem, and the Holograms and the Misfits were the muses for Jeremy Scott’s Spring 2020 collection? We fell for Scott’s oversized rainbow-bright metal wavy hoop earrings which conjured up fun memories from the Eighties.Jewelry details from Jeremy Scott SS20 RTW showJewelry details from Jeremy Scott SS20 RTW showJewelry details from Jeremy Scott SS20 RTW showJewelry details from Jeremy Scott SS20 RTW showJewelry details from Jeremy Scott SS20 RTW show PRABAL GURUNG: Celebrating his 10-year anniversary designer Prabal Gurung continued his partnership with international pearl and diamond jeweler TASAKI  to create a very modernistic and edgy collection of silver and pearl statement earrings. Our favorite piece in the collection? The dramatic silver, diamond, and pearl feather ear cuffs that we hope we’ll see soon on the red carpet during awards season.Jewelry details from Prabal Gurung SS20 RTW showJewelry details from Prabal Gurung SS20 RTW showJewelry details from Prabal Gurung SS20 RTW showJewelry details from Prabal Gurung SS20 RTW showJewelry details from Prabal Gurung SS20 RTW showJewelry details from Prabal Gurung SS20 RTW showBRANDON MAXWELL: Are we the only ones getting a little deja vu when we first laid eyes on the jewels from Maxwell’s SS20 collection? The first thing that popped into our head was David Webb’s Totem collection. Upon further inspection, we thought the acrylic bracelets with embedded custom codes were reminiscent of one of our favorite bracelets from James Banks. Best Jewelry at the Daily Front Row’s 2019 Fashion Media Awards

Along with the Vanity Fair Best Dressed Awards, the Daily Front Row handed out its annual awards for outstanding achievement in the fashion industry. Among those that were honored were model Indya Moore, actress Zendaya and model extraordinaire Kate Moss. We’re recapping our favorite jewelry moments from the event.

INDYA MOORE: The Pose star made a dramatic and poignant statement with her jewels at the event. Her earrings which were composed of sixteen ‘keepsake’ frames and designed by Areeayl Yoseefaw of beadsbyaree showcased and paid tribute to sixteen trans women who were murdered in the US this year. According to W Magazine Yoseefaw explained of the framed faces on Instagram. “The issue is so pressing that after creating the earring and three days before the event, Bailey Reeves, a 17-year-old girl from Baltimore was killed. For her, Indya carried a frame around with her face.”

At the event, Indya stated  “As you all know, or not, I am black, and I am trans. Right now the Supreme Court [is] voting on whether or not trans people can access employment, shelter, and healthcare in the same ways that you all have access,” making it a difficult time, they added, “to celebrate being celebrated for being myself.”

“Existence that requires bravery is not freedom. A life that requires bravery is not freedom,” Moore continued. “I accept this award in honor of the truth that the best award—the award we all deserve—is to be able to get home safe. I accept this award in good faith that my recognition doesn’t lead to the erasure of other trans and GNC [gender nonconforming] folks who also deserve healthcare, housing, safety, and visibility; magazine covers, runways, leading films and TV roles, doctor’s degrees, high school diplomas, college educations, and families; acknowledgment and respect. Not just when we’re on the covers of magazines, but when we are in the streets when we are poor.”
