Day 6 of the 2021 Cannes Film Festival brought forth the premiere of the Italian-French drama Tre Pinai (Three Floors) as well as the Kering Women in Motion Awards where bold jewels graced both red carpets. But it seems there was only one person that stole the show that day and that was Bella Hadid with her striking gilded brass and rhinestone necklace shaped like a pair of trompe l’oeil lungs from Schiaparelli.
Make sure to recap all the epic Cannes 2021 jewelry moments right here!
BELLA HADID: There were many mixed reactions online when it came to this look. Some loved the bold gold lung necklace that Daniel Roseberry created for Schiaparelli’s FW 2021 Couture collection. On the other hand, there were skeptics that didn’t understand the Surrealist approach of the brand and thought the lung necklace was unbefitting at a time when the world is recovering from a respiratory illness. Whether you loved it or hated it, you can’t ignore the fact that Bella made a noteworthy impression with her ensemble which she paired with ruby and diamond Chopard drop earrings and their Phoenix cocktail ring.
NOUR ARIDA: The Lebanese influencer gave Hadid some competition with her Cape de Lumière by Boucheron. This amazing piece, produced by the peacock feather motif, has never been worn yet on a red carpet and contains 800 diamonds, an 81-carat citrine center stone, and 925 hours of handmade work. The cape was created as an homage to Frederic Boucheron’s parents!
TAYLOR HILL: The model wore a vibrant turquoise set of jewels from Messika’s High Jewelry Color Play collection in collaboration with Kate Moss. The 2 finger ring and collar brought a delightful pop of color to the Cannes red carpet.
TONYA LEWIS LEE: We were waiting for Boucheron’s Holographique necklace of sliced rock crystal set in white gold, diamonds, and 20.21-carat central octagonal Ceylon yellow sapphire to pop up on the Cannes red carpet. That honor went to Spike Lee’s wife Tonya Lewis Lee.
MEANWHILE AT THE KERING WOMEN IN MOTION AWARDS:
MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL: With a bright red lip and a big smile, Maggie radiated in a pair of Aquamarine Chopard High Jewelry Red Carpet collection earrings.
JODIE TURNER-SMITH: After the devasting robbery that occurred in her hotel room, where not only her mother’s wedding ring but the Gucci jewelry she wore the day before got stolen, the actress made a triumphant return to attend the Kering Women in Motion Awards in a stunning suite of lion themed emerald and diamond gems from Gucci’s latest High Jewelry collection.
SALMA HAYEK: Hayek wore two pieces from Boucheron’s latest High Jewelry collection. A delightful pendant fish earring set with opals and diamonds with lacquer in pink gold curved her ear and a ring from Boucheron’s Holographique collection set with 4.61-carat oval blue tourmaline graced her finger.
NOUR ARIDA: Just when you think she couldn’t possibly top that exquisite cape, Nour Arida came with a second show-stopping jewelry look courtesy of Boucheron’s Lavallière diamond, onyx, and black lacquer necklace set in 18-karat white gold. What’s unique about this piece is that it can be worn as a statement necklace or you can detach its centerpiece to wear the necklace like a collar or wear the pendant, alone, as a brooch.
