JEWELS FROM THE RUNWAY: Georges Hobeika & Guo Pei Fall 2018 Couture Collections

GEORGES HOBEIKA: The Lebanese designer was simply fascinated with bows for his Fall 2018 couture collection. Bracelets were formed with swirling ribbons that wrapped up models’ arms and were covered in diamante, coral/ white cabs and amethyst stones. Bold bow rings adorned fingers and pave diamond ribbons tied in bows with Swarovski teardrops dangling below added movement to Hobeika’s stunning earrings.Georges Hobeika Fall 2018 CoutureGeorges Hobeika Fall 2018 CoutureGeorges Hobeika Fall 2018 CoutureGeorges Hobeika Fall 2018 CoutureGeorges Hobeika Fall 2018 CoutureGeorges Hobeika Fall 2018 CoutureGeorges Hobeika Fall 2018 CoutureGeorges Hobeika Fall 2018 CoutureGeorges Hobeika Fall 2018 CoutureGUO PEI: If you don’t remember Guo Pei then maybe this little tidbit will refresh your memory… she is the designer of Rihanna’s golden and much talked about confection at the 2015 Met Ball and that look put her on the international map. We are always excited to see what Guo Pei comes up with and her Fall 2018 couture collection did not disappoint. Only showcasing earrings, the jewels themselves were miniature works of art. Inspired by Gothic architecture primarily churches and their silhouettes, one can see elements of a stained glass window and domes from a cathedral,  all seemingly spun together with threads. Truly magical. JEWELS FROM THE RUNWAY: Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2018 Couture

Is smoking passé? Not if Jean Paul Gaultier has anything to do with it.  We would expect nothing less from the rebellious designer’s new Fall-Winter collection which was aimed at breaking all the rules, advocating for freedom of expression and versatility across all genders. Don’t forget this is the man who first put men in skirts on the runway in the ’80s.

Models rocked braided locks of hair hanging from singular hoop earrings and ear cuffs that resembled oversized ear piercings. Necklaces and bracelets were decorated with glowing acrylic cigarettes and logo chokers were shown with flashy rhinestone and chain bib necklaces.  Regardless if you love to smoke or not – he did feature a gauze mask with the glittery words that read ‘No Smoking’ for all you antismokers out there, you have to admit that Jean Paul put a clever and kitschy spin on the traditional cigarette.Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2018 CoutureJean Paul Gaultier Fall 2018 CoutureJean Paul Gaultier Fall 2018 CoutureJean Paul Gaultier Fall 2018 CoutureJean Paul Gaultier Fall 2018 CoutureJean Paul Gaultier Fall 2018 CoutureJean Paul Gaultier Fall 2018 CoutureJean Paul Gaultier Fall 2018 CoutureJean Paul Gaultier Fall 2018 CoutureJean Paul Gaultier Fall 2018 CoutureJean Paul Gaultier Fall 2018 CoutureJean Paul Gaultier Fall 2018 CoutureJean Paul Gaultier Fall 2018 CoutureJean Paul Gaultier Fall 2018 CoutureJean Paul Gaultier Fall 2018 CoutureJean Paul Gaultier Fall 2018 CoutureJean Paul Gaultier Fall 2018 CoutureSupermodel Naomi Campbell made an appearance at the show and we were dazzled by the stunning yellow and white diamond bauble on her ring finger from Ara Vartanian (similar to the one shown below.)
