The Best Jewelry at ‘Annette’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

After being canceled last year, The Cannes Film Festival is back, bringing with it all the glitz and glamour a girl could ever dream of!  This event is an opportunity for iconic jewelry brands to showcase their latest High Jewelry collections, so scroll down and check out the latest jewelry sightings from this A-list festival!

BELLA HADID: The model definitely turned heads as she strutted on the red carpet with Chopard’s 10.03-carat pear-shaped diamond earrings dangling off her lobes! As soon as we spotted these gems it gave us a bit of a deja vu moment and reminded us of Elle Fanning and her similar diamond drop earrings at the 2019 Cannes opening ceremony!

HELEN MIRREN:  We’re officially anointing Mirren as the Queen of the Red Carpet statement necklace. From her David Webb necklace at the Catherine The Great premiere to her diamond Winston collar at the Golden Globe Awards, Helen once again dominated the red carpet with her jewels. A vision in yellow Helen wore the most stunning suite of jewels from Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Gioielleria High Jewelry collection.

MARION COTILLARD: If there was anyone who could pull off a single earring red carpet look and make it cool and edgy, it would have to be Marion Cotillard! The actress combined a  single 18k yellow gold, diamond, and yellow beryl drop earring from Chanel’s L’Espirit du Lion collection with the French fashion house’s Lion Sculptural ring and bracelet of 18k yellow gold, diamonds, and quartz.

CANDICE SWANEPOEL: The model looked radiant in Pomellato’s La Gioia High Jewelry Collection, as she paired a white gold Catene necklace — set by hand with 1,928 diamonds for a total of 39 carats — with 564 diamond matching earrings. Talk about sparkle!

KAT GRAHAM: Kat made a grand Cannes entrance with her bold Pomellato Iconica Collection choker in rose gold and 830 diamonds as the centerpiece for her look.  Matching wraparound bracelet in rose gold and diamonds combined with two iconic Nudo collection diamond rings, and a pair of dangle earrings in rose gold with 248 diamonds decorated her wrist, ear lobes, and fingers.

The Best Jewelry at 2021 BET Awards

What a red carpet! The 2021 BET Awards which honors Black individuals’ achievements in music – aired live Sunday night and guests such as Saweetie, Zendaya & Queen Latifah were dripping in show-stopping gems! BTW it was a hell of a night for Bulgari as Megan, Saweetie, and Zendaya all wore gems from the Italian jewelry house! Catch up on all the must-see jewelry looks we can’t stop talking about!

SAWEETIE: Saweetie pulled off not one but two gorgeous Bulgari jewelry looks at Sunday night’s BET Awards. If her earrings which were set with rubellite and amethyst beads and diamonds look familiar that’s because they were worn by Zendaya at this year’s Critics’ Choice Awards. Stacks of diamond Serpenti gems completed one of our favorite BET Awards jewelry red carpet looks.

QUEEN LATIFAH:  Honored with the Lifetime Achievement award, this Queen only needed a pair of Ofira’s $14,800 18-karat rose gold Box light brown diamond hoop earrings to add sparkle to her Thom Browne red carpet look.

While accepting her award, Latifah wore Lorraine Schwartz’s 18K white gold and white diamond front back mesh earrings worth a cool $260,000.

LIL KIM: A lot of you will be saying that this jewelry look, which comes from  Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall 2021 runway, is a little over the top but we think the rapper pulled it off just fine.

SUMMER WALKER: We’re not sure how many carats Walker wore on the BET carpet but we can only assume it was A LOT. Her diamond necklace, rings, and diamond-encrusted Rolex were all from Status Jeweler.

JENNIFER HUDSON: One necklace was never enough for Jennifer as she piled on Pasquale Bruni’s 18k Rose Gold Aleluiá necklace of white and champagne diamonds worth $56,000 with Yvan Tufenkjian’s $20,200 rose gold and marquise diamond choker! She made a tribute to Aretha with her ‘RESPECT’  necklace.

MEGAN THEE STALLION: Giving us a Greek goddess vibe, Megan dripped in Bulgari diamond jewelry. Not only did she wear the brand’s  B. Zero diamond ring in white gold, a high jewelry ring in white gold consisting of 1 oval diamond (3,02 ct), 20 step cut diamonds, and pavé-set diamonds, and a jaw-dropping diamond necklace, she topped off the look with emerald and white diamond Serpenti earrings.

TARAJI P. HENSON: The BET Awards host flashed a fistful of Nadine Aysoy rings which included two eye-catching cocktail rings from her Elle et Lui Collection consisting of green Tourmalines, diamonds, and pearls. She topped the look off with matching earrings.

TYLER THE CREATOR: Out of all the rapper chains to hit the BET red carpet Tyler the Creator’s multi-colored stone and diamond $500k Bellhop necklace stood out amongst the rest.  The Alex Moss creation which matches the rapper’s outfit, features 887 grams of 18k gold, 186 carats of VVS diamonds, 60 carats of pink sapphires, and 23,517 stones individually set by hand. According to TMZ  Tyler hit him up about 7 months ago to get started on the piece, and it took him 4 months just to find the colored diamonds for it. Also, did you get a peep of that diamond Baudelaire brooch?

ZENDAYA: Zendaya had everyone crazy in love with her ode to Beyonce with her BET red carpet look! Her stylist Law Roach must have loved her yellow and white diamond jewels from the Oscars so much that the starlet ended up wearing the same cocktail ring from that night alongside a similar pair of yellow and white diamond drop earrings!

FLO MILLI: The rapper and songwriter wore over $32,000 worth of black diamonds, sapphire, and jade jewelry from Nadine Aysoy’s Celeste Collection.

  • Gucci has tapped actress Jodie Turner-Smith as the face of the Italian brand’s second High Jewelry collection called: Hortus Deliciarum -Latin for Garden of Delights and includes 130 one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by Mother Nature. One shot, in particular, is inspired by a famous photo of Elizabeth Taylor from 1989, which was photographed by Helmut Newton ( shown above). The entire campaign was shot by Glen Luchford.

  • Never mind that Kim is lounging on a bed in a see-through skirt, it seems Kim K’s earrings were what everyone was looking at in her steamy Instagram photoshoot for KKW Beauty.

The oversized hoop earrings sparked heavy criticism over its om symbol. People took to social media stating that Kim reduced the spiritual symbol to a fashion accessory!

According to the Hindu religion, the om symbol represents “ultimate reality” and is worn to express devotion to the religion. The word itself is often chanted before Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain ceremonies.

“MY RELIGION IS NOT YOUR AESTHETIC WTF,” one observer bashed in the comment section of the May 23 tweet.

Another fumed, “STOP CULTURAL APPROPRIATION OF INDIAN CULTURE!!!”

Another added, “Is now a good time to mention that the Om is a sacred symbol to Hindus and not just an accessory?”

No comment from Kim’s camp about the debacle.

Are Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton married? Fans think so based on exclusive paparazzi pictures obtained by Page Six!  Although we do have to give Gwen credit as she did give us a hint via her Instagram! The former No Doubt frontwoman was spotted wearing what appeared to be a sparkling diamond wedding band next to her massive engagement ring which we love by the way!

Stefani, 51, and Shelton, 44, both back from Oklahoma were spotted wearing matching outfits of navy blue shirts, blue jeans, and baseball caps while attending a children’s sporting event with her son. The wedding ring appears to have various cuts of diamonds surrounding the band and complements her epic engagement ring quite nicely.

  • Talk about a powerhouse trio! Tiffany & Co. unveiled that Anya Taylor-Joy, Eileen Gu, and Tracee Ellis Ross are its newest global House ambassadors and make their debut in the 2021 Tiffany T1 campaign, ‘Give Me the T,’ which is launching across Tiffany platforms. Ellis summed it up the best when interviewed by the jewelry brand by saying, “Growing up, I would often wander through the flagship store on Fifth Avenue, imagining myself as a grown woman wearing the bold elegance of Tiffany’s signature diamonds.   • Speaking of secret weddings……Are they married? Sure looks like it! Couple in the fact that in March of this year, the paparazzi photographed the Firework star sporting a gold band on her left ring finger as she stepped out with Bloom in Hawaii!

PHARRELL’S NEW MULTI GEMSTONE SMILE

Pharell’s smile swept the internet. The 48-year-old multi-hyphenate tapped Gabby Elan Jewelry, a Diamond District father-son duo whose inimitable designs have attracted an impressive A-list clientele including Bella Hadid and LeBron James.

The grills featured $100,000 worth of rare gems consisting of “VS+ white diamonds, fancy yellow diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and emeralds,” according to the jewelry designer.

There was a lot of trial and error to get this perfect,” jewelry designer Elan Pinhasov-Malaev told Page Six. “I went knocking on about 30 doors trying to find some of these stones.”

Interesting to note that all the gems featured a custom rose cut – Pharrell’s personal favorite and were cast in 22-karat gold.

So how long did it take? It took two months to source the rare gems and the design process took a total of four months.

The grills were commissioned alongside Jacob & Co., who created a matching necklace for Williams.

  • Kim K received the most disturbing package in the mail. According to TMZ, the reality star’s security team intercepted a parcel from a fan that included a diamond engagement ring … and Plan B.!
    Looks like the stalker is a die-hard fan, showing up to her house and harassing her online even going so far as posting a self-made marriage certificate! We’re not sure if the ring is real or how many carats it is but we do know that it will definitely be returned to the sender. Scary!
