Best Jewelry From The Men At The 2021 Oscars

The men at this year’s Oscars gave plenty of sparkle on the red carpet. From vintage Deco brooches spotted on tux lapels to rings glittering on fingers, the men and their jewelry did not disappoint! Here are some of our favorites!

VAN HUNT’S CELESTIAL BROOCH

Halle Berry’s new beau made his Oscar red carpet debut with David Yurman’s gorgeous $7,100 white gold and diamond Supernova brooch. The out-of-this-world pin and pendant features 31 natural round and baguette-shaped diamonds totaling 0.72 carats.

LESLIE ODOM JR. ‘S EPIC CAT RING

When you’re rocking an all gold suit what better way to accessorize it than with a $26,600 Panthère de Cartier ring. Odom’s epic cocktail ring is a symbolic animal of Cartier and is made of 18K yellow gold and black lacquer, peridots, onyx.

JON BATISTE’S FASHIONABLE DIOR BROOCH

One of the most fashionable men on this year’s Oscar red carpet, the musician rocked an epic black enamel and lion motif brooch with drop detail from fashion house Dior.

NEIL PATRICK HARRIS’ ONE OF A KIND BROOCH

We first spotted Boucheron’s Art Deco diamond arrow brooch, created in 1909, on Black-ish star Anthony Anderson at the 2021 NAACP Image Awards. Harris chose to wear the pin to Elton John’s annual Oscar after-party.

PAUL RACI’S FUNKY LAPEL AND COLLAR PIN

The Chicago native and Sound of Metal star had one of our favorite Oscar jewelry red carpet looks last night. Raci doubled up on his bling, choosing two rhinestone and crystal-embellished lapel and collar pins from Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana.

The Black Messiah star caught our eye with his elegant diamond Art Deco brooch from Neil Lane Couture. The brooch may look familiar as Anthony Anderson wore the same pin to the 2020 NAACP Image Awards

How does one accessorize a hot pink sparkly Versace suit? Just ask Cole Domingo! The Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom star rocked a series of gold and diamond jewelry from David Yurman including the brand’s cognac diamond ring and bracelet from their Waves collection.

ALDIS HODGE’S ZALIUM CUFFLINKS & SHIRT STUDS

The One Night in Miami star looked dapper wearing Harry Winston’s Zalium cufflinks and shirt studs accented with diamonds. Harry Winston’s designers and craftsmen have become the first to incorporate the material, which was originally used in the aerospace industry, in a range of fine jewelry and accessories.

Best Jewelry at 2021 Oscars

Forget the designer labels, plunging necklines and shimmering sequins for a second … for many of the stars on last night’s Oscars red carpet, it was all about the jewels!

Let’s talk about cocktail rings. Why wear one when you can wear a handful? From Glenn Close’s circa 1915 three-stone, Burmese sapphire and diamond ring by Fred Leighton to H.E.R. ‘s fistful of sapphire and diamond Chopard rings, the stars donned rings set with a rainbow of precious stones.

Zendaya glided onto the Academy Awards red carpet in $6-million worth of show-stopping fancy yellow diamonds courtesy of Bulgari which made her look like a ray of sunshine paired with her lemon custom Valentino dress.

Diamonds will always be a red-carpet staple and we love how Vanessa Kirby wore her Cartier necklace back-to-front, allowing its platinum pendant to fall between her shoulder blades.

Another standout moment belonged to Emerald Fennell who won Best Director. She has been proudly showcasing her father’s fabulous jewelry creations all awards season long. This time was no exception as she wore Theo Fennell’s purple tourmaline and 2.61ct diamond pave ring, along with a pair of 18ct white gold 29.99-carat Morganite & pave diamond Chrysanthemum detachable drop earrings by her designer dad.

Jewelry Details From Gucci Fall 2021 RTW Collection

As Gucci turns 100 this year Alessandro Michele decided to celebrate the label’s milestone with a little help from his friend Balenciaga’s Demna Gvasalia.

The result? Jewels that consisted of branded nose rings, body chains, and even fine jewelry reflective of Michele’s maximalist magpie style.

When interviewed by Vogue UK, Michele noted his deeply sentimental attachment to jewels and it was inevitable that he would turn to create a high jewelry collection for Gucci. “If Gucci is a piece of my soul, then it must have jewelry too,” he said.

“I was inspired by the idea that you were opening the safety deposit box of an old lady and it was full of beautiful things from different eras,” he says.

Michele does not feel any pressure to stay ahead of the times, as some jewelry houses do. “They’re afraid to be similar to something that belongs to the past,” he says. “It’s like they feel guilty, but I don’t. Why can’t we play with things from another era and add color and contrast and unusual gemstones?”

“By mixing the colors, you give life to every single stone,” says Michele. For him, the selection of a stone is about the gut-punching intensity of its color and clarity. “A beautiful tourmaline can be better than an emerald.”

But what’s most important to note about all the jewelry at Gucci regardless of the season is that Alessandro has always created gems that are designed to be worn by men and women alike. “It’s crazy to say that men and women’s jewelry must be different,” says Michele, pointing to the Georgian aristocrats bedecked in diamonds and the Indian maharajahs who descended on Place Vendôme in the early 20th century with caskets of precious gems to be turned into fashionable creations.

The jewelry shown below from Gucci’s FW 2021 collection is certainly a reflection of that.
