Last Thursday night saw model Carolyn Murphy attend the Hearst and Harper’s BAZAAR  Lincoln Center 7th Annual Corporate Fund Fashion Gala, honoring Leonard A. Lauder with the Women’s Leadership Award. The ageless beauty had us captivated with her divine Fred Leighton antique jewelry. A stunning pair of Georgian repoussé gold chandelier earrings c.,1820. hung from Murphy’s lobes and a gorgeous 19th Century Archeological Revival bracelet featuring double rams’ head graced her wrist. According to Leighton rams were celebrated in the ancient world as they were associated with deities and were a symbol of power, protection, and knowledge.

Rihanna’s New Cameo Jewelry Line and Jay-Z’s Rolex Watch Invites

We’ve got your dose of celebrity jewelry news from Rihanna’s new Cameo jewelry line celebrating the beauty of black women to Jay-Z’s insane Rolex watch invites to this year’s Shawn Carter Foundation gala.

RIHANNA: What else can Rihanna do? She can now add jewelry designer to her resume. Riri just launched a line of Fenty cameo jewelry celebrating the beauty of black women. The line of pendants, rings, and earrings feature glass and black resin cameos (women profiles) surrounded by pearls and Swarovski crystals and retail between $340 and $530. So why is this so significant? According to Town&Country Magazine, the cameo pieces honor “a new more contemporary heroine” and were presented in a series of “family portraits” by Nigerian-raised, Yorkshire-based photographer Ruth Ossai. Teen Vogue explained a bit more about the history behind Cameo jewelry from the brand, writing, “Cameo jewelry has been worn as a statement of intent, belief or power. In ancient Greece, young women wore cameos bearing the portrait of Eros, the God of Love, to express their sexuality, or Medusa with her snake hair to ward off demons. Though FENTY’s cameo features a black woman’s profile, the collection is not about a singular definition of beauty; she symbolizes the beauty of difference. The cameo is an emblem of fearlessness, elevation, creativity, and joy – everything FENTY stands for.”  Read more on the history of cameos on Vogue.comRihanna's Cameo Jewelry lineRihanna's Cameo Jewelry lineRihanna's Cameo Jewelry lineRihanna's Cameo Jewelry line

Rihanna Rocking David Webb, Neil Lane and Loree Rodkin Jewelry at the Queen & Slim Premiere

Coco Chanel once stated, “When accessorizing always take off the last thing you put on.” Well, that doesn’t seem to apply to Rihanna and her jewelry style at the Queen & Slim premiere last Thursday night. Rihanna's Jewelry at the Queen Slim premiere

The beauty and fashion mogul on hand to show support to director Melina Matsoukas whose work includes music videos for Rihanna’s songs “Rude Boy” and “Hard” showcased a well-curated jewelry mix of David Webb, Neil Lane, and Loree Rodkin gems.

Our eyes were immediately drawn to the gorgeous large black enamel, gold, diamond and carved rock crystal necklace from David Webb. She paired the piece with two carved and fluted rock crystal cuffs totaling $72,000.

Layered with that dramatic Webb necklace were two Neil Lane gems consisting of a black cross with diamonds and an onyx and diamond tiered chain. This isn’t the first time Riri has worn a cross from Neil Lane. She tied in the look with a vintage Art Deco bracelet set from the Hollywood jeweler.

After accessorizing to the hilt with diamond and onyx chains and rock crystal bracelets she topped off her look with a fistful of Loree Rodkin rings.
