Brooch fever hit hard thanks to model Alton Mason and Indian filmmaker Karan Johar, who showed just how maximalist you can get. Meanwhile, Dakota wrapped up her Cannes conquest with two knockout Boucheron looks that had us swooning. And Rihanna? She stayed iconic, backing A$AP Rocky while dazzling in her signature diamond earscape from Boucheron and Messika.
SPLITSVILLE PREMIERE:
DAKOTA JOHNSON: Gotta admit, after that earring moment at the Kering Women in Motion Awards, the photocall felt… underwhelming—until she turned around. That Boucheron Avoine head jewel paved in diamonds glittering through her hair? Instant redemption. Paired with black lacquer–edged Vendôme Liseré studs and ring, it was all precision and polish!
HIGHEST 2 LOWEST PREMIERE:
DAKOTA JOHNSON: Third time’s a charm? More like a trilogy of triumphs. Hats off to Kate Young for styling not one, but three knockout Boucheron moments on Dakota. This time: Laurier pendant earrings from the house’s latest high jewelry collection, paired with a pink beaded Gucci fringe dress. Maybe it’s time Boucheron gave Dakota that ambassadorship contract?
SPIKE LEE & WIFE TANYA LEWIS LEE: Stylish duo Spike Lee and Tonya Lewis Lee dipped into Boucheron’s vault and came out gleaming. Spike, ever the icon, rocked a double feather clip from 1938 in yellow and pink gold, platinum, rubies, and diamonds, plus a bold Lierre de Paris rock crystal ring.
Tonya went for full-on golden goddess vibes in layers of Serpent Bohème, but it was that diamond-paved vintage cuff that stole the show.
A$AP ROCKY: Always serving suave with a side of flash, A$AP Rocky stayed true to form, grill gleaming and Bulgari jewels on lock. From gold and diamond earrings to his personal vintage gold nugget bracelet, the details were everything. He stacked it further with a Monete secret watch set with an ancient Roman coin, diamonds, and mother-of-pearl, plus a ruby-studded brooch and ring. Decadent. Decided. Deluxe.
RIHANNA: Aquamarines for Smurfs? Maybe. But we’ve got other theories, and we’ll get into those later. Rihanna hit Cannes in full glam to support A$AP Rocky’s Highest 2 Lowest, dripping in Boucheron: Rosier pendant earrings, the aquamarine-studded Hopi Le Colibri ring, and a diamond Vendôme Liseré ring. A high jewelry flex—served Rihanna style.
At the Ray-Ban x A$AP Rocky afterparty, Rih kept the dress but changed the vibe, ditching the color and going full diamond mode. Enter Messika: Ophélia studs, Illusionnistes ear clip, and Night Owls rings. No notes.
ALTON MASON: Supermodel Alton Mason brought star power to Cannes literally! Dripping in diamonds via Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen’s one-of-a-kind Funky Stars brooch and a razor-sharp gold collar from APM Monaco.
STELLA MAXWELL: Ever seen a 93.59 carat tanzanite cabochon? Model Stella Maxwell made it the show’s star, crowned by three rose-cut diamonds and a strand of 117.67 carat cultured pearls. Topped off with signature 4.09 carat tulip-cut diamond studs from Alok Lodha Jewels, pure magic!
FINNEGAN OLDFIELD: French-British actor Finnegan Oldfield hit the Cannes carpet in a 1919 Boucheron barrette brooch, yellow gold, platinum, sapphires, and diamonds. Archival elegance with a sharp, modern edge? We’re in.
FUORI PREMIERE:
NAOMI CAMPBELL:Â Leave it to a supermodel to treat the red carpet like a runway. In a crystal-and-pearl corset by Dolce & Gabbana and Damiani Mimosa jewels, she brought the sparkle, but those earrings? Rubies, pink sapphires, and coral so bold they practically introduced themselves!
VIE PRIVÉE PREMIERE ( A PRIVATE LIFE) :
SCARLETT JOHANSSON: If this look is a wink to Grace Kelly in To Catch a Thief (set in Cannes, no less!), we’re all in because only diamonds will do. De Beers delivered: a stack of Eternity Line bracelets, over 13 carats in new Nature Drop earrings, and that cocktail ring with an extremely rare central 2.15 carat fancy yellow-green diamond.
TONI GARRN: There’s something delicately delightful about Toni Garrn’s diamond gems from SHIPHRA. Her Alexandra Collar, like lace in diamonds, pairs perfectly with her black embroidered Elie Saab and Virgo earrings. Chic with bite.
KARAN JOHAR: Thank goodness for Indian filmmaker and producer Karan Johar, keeping the brooch game alive and thriving. Never too much! Manish Malhotra brooches took over: styled as buttons down the jacket, tipped at the collar, and even stacked on the cuffs. A maximalist moment we fully support.
VISHAL JETHWA: Karan Johar had some brooch competition courtesy of Indian actor Vishal Jethwa, who ditched the tie in favor of something far more poetic, a pair of ‘Two Wings of the Same Sky’ brooches by Kavy Potluri perched at his collar.
