While the 2021 Grammy red carpet showcased a ton of glitzy jewelry there were also some unexpected and surprising gems to pop up like Dua Lipa’s quirky teeth jewels & Harry Styles’ risqué penis-shaped Gucci banana necklace!
BEYONCE’S 54- CARAT DIAMOND EARRINGS
We were waiting for Bey’s Lorraine Schwartz Grammy jewelry red carpet moment and she did not disappoint. According to The Adventurine who phoned Schwartz about the details on the diamond drops, the celeb jeweler confided that “They are super couture design, very lightweight and finely crafted,” explained Lorraine. “We get a lot of requests for this design, but we only make like one pair per continent. No one in the United States owns them. I wanted Beyoncé to be able to wear them first.” BTW that’s 54 carats hanging off her lobes!
BLUE IVY’S ODE TO BIGGIE
When news came out that someone had purchased Notorious B.I.G.’s crown from Sotheby’s in 2020 for $595,000 everyone wanted to know who bought it.
The $6 crown was worn during Biggie’s “King of New York” photoshoot and according to RollingStone magazine, the crown was sold by photographer Barron Claiborne, who shot the iconic Rap Pages cover just three days before Biggie’s March 9th, 1997 death.
Well fast forward to 2021 and just when it was announced Blue Ivy won a Grammy award, proud parents Bey and Jay-Z did a photoshoot to capture the moment with, you guessed it, their daughter Blue Ivy wearing the crown!
DUA LIPA’S PERSONAL GRILL
The “New Rules” artist flashed her custom Gabby Elan jewelry grill, complete with a rainbow butterfly on it, at an after Grammy party bash boyfriend Anwar Hadid threw for her.
Butterflies are often seen as a symbol of resurrection and around the world, people view the butterfly as representing endurance, change, hope, and life.
When asked why the butterfly, Dua told ET’s, Kevin Frazier- “Butterflies have had like a lot of symbolism for me this year, and it’s actually got a lot of symbolism for Versace too. So it was really cool to get to come together and make something cute.”
HARRY STYLES’ RACY BANANA NECKLACE
Blink and you’ll miss it. While everyone was talking about the stacks of rings Harry was wearing (let’s not forget that boa) not a lot noticed the not-so-subtle NSFW racy Gucci necklace he wore! What Gucci necklace do you ask?
A tiny yellow phallic pendant Styles wore on the Grammy red carpet that was nestled with his ever-present cross necklace. Christened “the banana necklace” by devoted Styles fans, the gem retails for $450 and is touted as sending “a message about leaving behind fashion’s old rules and portraying this uninhibited freedom of expression” on the brand’s website. Sadly if you want your own banana, you’re out of luck as the piece quickly sold out.
MEGAN THEE STALLION’S HOT GIRL NECKLACE
While Megan rocked some pretty pricey Chopard jewels during the Grammy ceremony, the Houston native’s showstopping pendant necklace by famed jeweler Elliot Eliantte with the words Hot Girl spelled out in baguette diamonds made our jaw drop! Taking 6 months to complete and costing around $425,000, the piece is an oh-so-deserved birthday present to the Hot Girl herself weighing a total of 155 carats, with approximately one kilo of 14k gold and VS diamonds.

BIG SEAN’S COLORFUL GRAMMY GEMS GO AGAINST THE NORM
Can we applaud Big Sean? It was refreshing to see the rapper, singer and songwriter prove that male artists can go beyond wearing huge, flashy oversized gold and diamond chains to wearing (with confidence may we add) delicate multicolored gemstone jewels to a huge red carpet music awards event. Sean wore Los Angeles-based designer Loren Teetelli of Loren Nicole’s $42,750 charm necklace with multi gems and a matching $18,000 charm bracelet. He topped off his dapper Grammy look with an $11,350 gold signet ring with garnet cabochon center.
