The 2025 Met Gala was one for the history books—and for the first time, menswear took center stage. This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” spotlighted the legacy of Black fashion and the art of self-expression through tailoring and statement accessories. A-list attendees like Pharrell Williams, Colman Domingo, and Lewis Hamilton showed up in looks that honored the roots of Black dandyism with a modern, high-fashion twist.
It wasn’t just about the suits—it was about men’s jewelry too. Think vintage brooches, diamond lapel pins, custom high jewelry pieces, and embellished canes that brought a new level of craftsmanship and storytelling to the carpet. With exclusive designs from Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Boucheron, and independent jewelers, the night offered a masterclass in celebrity red carpet style and the power of fine jewelry to elevate a look.

A$AP ROCKY: Take it from co-chair A$AP Rocky—if you’re gonna shut down the Superfine Met Gala carpet, do it in rare stones and maximum drama. He rolled in wearing a Bvlgari High Jewelry necklace with an exceptional ruby at the center, one that has never been seen in public before, plus a matching brooch in pink gold featuring a 15.34-carat cushion-cut peridot surrounded by diamonds and rubellites—also making its public debut. And that sparkly umbrella catching the flashes? A custom Briony Raymond piece, iced with 90 carats of real diamonds. A little glamour, a little shade… maybe even a nod to his recent gun trial?

After co-chairing the Met Gala in a head-to-toe custom AWGE ensemble, A$AP Rocky kept the party going in true icon fashion. Teaming up with Ray-Ban, he transformed Jean’s NYC into the AWGE Tailor Shop for an after-hours affair that was anything but low-key. Pinned to his jacket: a maximalist cluster of brooches from Briony Raymond—including an estate diamond-and-coral flower, a lapis-and-emerald butterfly, and a dazzling diamond-and-quartz bloom. And yes, he finished the look with his signature Briony Raymond diamond cluster studs, because subtlety has never been his vibe.

LEWIS HAMILTON: The Formula One star, fresh from the Miami Grand Prix, arrived in a lapel pin like no other: a custom baobab flower–inspired brooch by British designer Grace Wales Bonner, marking her fine jewelry debut. Created with SNOW Diamonds, the piece shimmered with pearls and emerald-cut lab-grown gems in garnet (a birthday nod), amber, and icy white. He crowned the look with a vintage Briony Raymond floral brooch on his hat, sparkling with fancy white, yellow, and pink diamonds, and diamond studs to match.

CALEB MCLAUGHLIN: Stranger Things star loaded up on vintage flair, stacking three Joseph Saidian & Sons brooches and tucking Dior’s chatelaine brooch into his pocket—complete with charms like a replica of Mr. Dior’s own thimble, scissors, and button box from the Dior Winter25 show by Kim Jones.

DAMSON IDRIS: Wearing your own recently launched jewelry brand to the Met Gala? That’s next-level. 💎 Custom brooch with an almost 11-carat emerald and 18 special-cut tourmalines, plus a $15,750 necklace from Didris = Superfine.

BAD BUNNY: Bad Bunny’s lapel was all about quiet luxury, pinned with a Cartier floral brooch centered by a yellow diamond and framed with shimmering white diamonds—a subtle statement with serious impact.

TYLER PERRY: Favorite brooch of the night? Belongs to Tyler Perry! Designed by Sebastian Jaramillo, it stars a 67-carat Brazilian amethyst, Baroque pearls, diamonds, and even Depression glass from the 1930s.

JONATHAN OWENS: Simone Biles’ hubby didn’t come to play—Jonathan Owens wore Margot McKinney’s jaw-dropping Atlantic brooch, starring a 119.44ct aquamarine and a South Sea pearl drop. Now that’s how you make a Met entrance.

LEON BRIDGES: Leon Bridges brought vintage flair to the Met Gala with a 1960s and 1970s-inspired look, rocking citrine and diamond brooches from Saidian Vintage Jewels that perfectly complemented his pinstripe suit. Classic meets cool.

ADRIEN BRODY: Forever a devotee of Elsa Jin’s divine designs, Brody hit the Met Gala wearing her Motto of Love brooch—two arum lilies representing independent souls bound by eternal love, blooming only in each other’s presence.

CHRIS ROCK: Chris Rock ditched the tie and let his accessories do the talking—his 1920s platinum and diamond lapel watch from Fred Leighton brought both the time and the elegance.

J BALVIN: We expected a whole flock of Tiffany & Co. Schlumberger Birds on a Rock—preferably in diamonds—but J Balvin had other plans. He switched it up with a 41-carat pink tourmaline version that matched his suit perfectly. Now that’s coordination.

REGE-JEAN PAGE: Regé-Jean Page turned up the heat in a blazing red suit, topped with a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany & Co. Fleurage brooch, set with a 3-carat rubellite in 18k gold and platinum.

COLMAN DOMINGO: Was Colman Domingo channeling André Leon Talley’s iconic 2011 silk kaftan at the Met Gala? When asked, he shared that his look was also inspired by regal robes and traditional choir attire. His Boucheron Iceberg necklace—set with rock crystal and diamonds—was the perfect fit for channeling that vision, forming a striking, embellished collar. Meanwhile, his Serpent Boheme Solarité asymmetrical stud earrings in yellow gold with diamonds added just the right touch of flair.

EDWARD ENNINFUL: Edward Enninful and Almasika Fine Jewellery? A Met Gala match made in heaven. 🌸 Featuring 17 carats of natural diamonds from Botswana, set in gold with a chic black rhodium finish, these floral brooches—named Invictus—celebrate beauty, joy, and legacy. A true poetic tribute to resilience.

NOAH LYLES: What does the fastest man alive wear to the Met? Custom Ana Khouri, of course—necklace, rings, and hair pearls crafted from natural diamonds, rare South Sea pearls, and 18k Fairmined gold. If you remember, pearls have become a signature style for Lyles, who wore them in his hair during the 2024 Olympics.

CHANCE THE RAPPER: Chance the Rapper’s lapel was pure luxury—pinned with a clutch of Jean Schlumberger brooches from Tiffany & Co. He mixed a rubellite and diamond Daisy Bud, a diamond-studded Flames, and a golden Peapod brooch with cultured pearls. Did you spot the over-25-carat imperial topaz Starlight pin atop his hat? Who needs one statement piece when you can wear four?

JEREMY O. HARRIS: Tony-nominated playwright and screenwriter Jeremy O. Harris, who recently penned a Vogue piece on modern dandyism, took his Met Gala jewels to artful new heights. Collaborating with jeweler Benjamin Hawkins, Harris debuted a custom Fabergé-inspired “egg ring” featuring a portrait of himself in 19th-century regalia, silver collar, and pearl earring included. The miniature masterpiece, painted by Penny Davis Jewellery, sits atop a guilloché enamel base and boasts a 2.20-carat pear-shaped diamond in a warm peach-brown hue. A dandy detail, indeed.

PHARRELL WILLIAMS: We couldn’t help but admire Pharrell’s pearl-drenched Louis Vuitton blazer (15,000 pearls to be exact)—but a closer look at his hands revealed the real showstopper: a brand-new custom-made Coronation Ring from Tiffany & Co., set with a yellow diamond weighing in at over 20 carats. A fitting tribute for a Met Gala co-chair, wouldn’t you say?

MALUMA: SILEO emerald jewelry—sourced from Maluma’s native Colombia—was the perfect power pairing for his Jacob & Co. watch. A wrist, ear, and lapel moment worth a double-take.

STEVIE WONDER: Stevie Wonder’s Met Gala look? Hard to miss—especially with 23.62 carats of diamonds on his De Beers Flourishing Lotus Brooch perched on his hat. Talk about a crown jewel moment!

SHAH RUKH KHAN: This legendary Bollywood icon’s Met Gala debut was pure royalty. Shah Rukh Khan crowned his all-black Sabyasachi suit with a custom Dandy Stack necklace and carried the majestic Bengal Tiger Head Cane—both dripping in 18k gold, sapphires, tourmalines, and antique diamonds. Long live King Khan.

OMAR APOLLO: Lewis wasn’t the only one flexing custom Wales Bonner jewels—Omar Apollo came through with a feathery brooch dusted in Swarovski crystals and pearls. Topping his look? A casual 20 carats of Chopard sparkle.

SHABOOZEY: Musician Shaboozey didn’t need a brooch—his natural turquoise and diamond grillz by Alligator Jesus did all the talking.

COLIN KAEPERNICK: Did you know Colin Kaepernick’s Briony Raymond swallow brooch is a harbinger of homecoming? A powerful piece of jewelry to represent the Met Gala’s Superfine theme.

KHABY LAME: Who needs a Rolex when you’ve got flea market pocket watches? Khaby Lame’s Met Gala look was ticking with drama—a wink to Black Dandyism and the very app that made him famous. Time is money.

DILJIT DOSANJH: Diljit Dosanjh’s first-ever Met Gala appearance was nothing short of a royal takeover. Channeling the opulence of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala—arguably the OG of statement jewels—Dosanjh paid tribute to the ruler’s iconic Cartier-laden style with layers upon layers of emeralds, pearls, and antique-inspired brooches. His team tapped Indian jewellers Golecha to create custom pieces, including a turban brooch worthy of a crown.
On his wrist? Cartier’s fierce Nature Sauvage Tigre bracelet. But here’s where it gets spicy: word is, Cartier reportedly denied Dosanjh the chance to wear the actual Patiala necklace—the same one they loaned Emma Chamberlain in 2022. And truthfully, who needs the $2.5 billion necklace when you are the headline? Dosanjh didn’t just show up, he shut it down!

TYLER MITCHELL: Tyler Mitchell—yes, the same visionary who shot Beyoncé for Vogue at just 23—pinned a poetic touch to his Met Gala look: a Wales Bonner x SNOW brooch. Featuring delicate feathers, freshwater pearls, and crystals, it marks the London label’s first foray into fine jewelry. A fitting adornment for the man who captured Superfine.

JALEN HURTS: At last, the newest Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Bird on a Rock lands on the red carpet, perched atop a cushion-cut diamond of over 25 carats and nestled right into the footballer’s cravat.

LAKEITH STANFIELD: Peep it or miss it—Lakeith Stanfield wore a beaded necklace of gold, diamonds, and emeralds from his bestie Damson Idris’ new jewelry line, Didris. A low-key flex with high style.

EVAN ROSS: Who needs a shirt when your necklace has a 35.09 carat Colombian emerald? Evan Ross lets his Alok Lodha necklace do all the talking at the Met Gala.
