Buckle up for the grand reveal—the 2024 Met Gala is here in all its glittering glory! But this time, it’s not just about the flowing gowns and shimmering lights; it’s about the men and their show-stopping jewelry game. Did the men possibly outshine the women? Yes and when it came to the men, they didn’t hold back in embracing the bling. With the theme “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” and a dress code evoking “The Garden of Time,” the stage was set for a night of pure opulence and romance.
So, what were the standout jewelry trends? For starters, bid farewell to the era of the boring bow tie—it’s officially a thing of the past! Kieran Culkin’s dazzling Georgian foil-backed amethyst Rivière necklace from Fred Leighton and Ed Sheeran’s diamond-edged tie are leading the charge into a new realm of neckwear sophistication.
But that’s not all—brooches are also rewriting the rulebook. No longer confined to lapels, they’re making themselves at home on waistbands. Remember when Timothée Chalamet effortlessly rocked sweats adorned with Cartier pins at the 2021 Met Gala? Well, it seems he was onto something! And why settle for just one brooch when you can layer up like Jeff Goldblum and Leon Bridges? It’s a case of the more, the merrier! Every accessory has a story to tell, and every detail adds to the irresistible allure. Welcome to the era where men’s jewelry takes center stage, one brooch and necklace at a time!

LEWIS HAMILTON: Hamilton soared to the top of our list with an ensemble inspired by the remarkable tale of John Ystumllyn, one of Britain’s trailblazing Black gardeners. Decked out in regal finery, he sported Briony Raymond Collection’s fancy yellow diamond cluster earrings and an Étoile diamond triple wrap ring, adding a touch of vintage glamour with a 1960s unheated yellow sapphire and diamond ring.
The Formula One driver also showcased Burberry’s Thorn Pave necklace and bracelet, complemented by an Alex Moss Asteroid ring, co-designed with @kamilxabbas.
TROYE SIVAN: Seems like Troye Sivan took a page from Chalamet’s playbook and added his own twist! Picture this: a blue-hued butterfly, complete with morning dew, delicately pinned to the waistband of his custom Prada suit, courtesy of Emmanuel Tarpin.
TAIKA WAITITI: Ever wondered what $6M of diamonds looks like? Well, look no further than Waititi, who had his neck decked out in a Diamond Riviera necklace from Jacob & Co., boasting a staggering 161.52ct of round-cut diamonds. Now that’s what we call neck candy worth drooling over!
LEON BRIDGES: Bridges didn’t just dip his toes into the jewelry game; he dove in headfirst, bringing maximalism back with a bang! With not one, not two, but three stunning brooches— including a Ruser diamond and sapphire pin, a floral masterpiece featuring a central cabochon ruby, and an antique emerald pearl and enamel brooch—Leon truly piled on the jewels, and we loved it! And as if that wasn’t enough, he didn’t forget about the wrists, each adorned with a Van Cleef & Arpels emerald and diamond bracelet alongside an Art Deco sapphire and diamond one, all from Joseph Saidian & Sons.
KIERAN CULKIN: Who needs a bowtie when you’ve got style like Kieran Culkin’s? His substitution of a Georgian foil-backed amethyst Rivière necklace with drop was the perfect fit for the Met theme. And let’s not overlook his fingers adorned with rings, including an 1840s carved agate Cameo and a Georgian rose-cut diamond cluster, all from Fred Leighton.
ED SHEERAN: Now, you might be wondering why Ed Sheeran is featured in this lineup of the best jewels from the men. Well, just take a glance at his bowtie! It’s a custom-made creation by Vrai in collaboration with fashion designer Stella McCartney and adorned with Vrai-created diamonds, making it a sparkling standout piece.
MIKE FAIST: Well, well, well, look who’s turning up the style game! Mike Faist from Challengers sported a beaded Loewe turnip brooch on his lapel, and boy, did he root for the right accessory! It’s not just on-theme; it’s a clear winner! Who knew veggies could be this stylish?
SEBASTIAN STAN: We stan his bold choice of decking his black tee out with not one, not two, but three iconic pins: a Cartier Tradition Double-clip brooch from 1940, a Cartier Collection Flower clip brooch dating back to 1962, and a Cartier Collection Cliquet pin from 1928.
DONALD GLOVER: Did Donald Glover strut into the Met Gala thinking he’s the cat’s meow? Well, with that Cartier black panther brooch dangling from his lapel—a chain adorned with brilliant-cut diamonds and polished links, culminating in a pear-shaped emerald bead drop—he might just be onto something! And let’s not forget the smattering of Cartier rings adorning his fingers. This feline finesse is on a whole other level!
JON BATISTE: Batiste certainly made heads turn with his striking entrance, courtesy of a Cartier Collection brooch crafted from platinum and diamonds dating back to 1928. And here’s the juicy tidbit: rumor has it that this exquisite piece was once part of none other than Sir Elton John’s personal jewelry collection.
OMAR APOLLO: As the singer sauntered onto the red carpet, he did so in style, clad in a sleek black suit designed by none other than Loewe’s Jonathan Anderson. But let’s talk about that lapel—wide, bedazzled with crystal flowers, it was like a garden in full bloom, adding a dash of whimsy to his ensemble. And as if that wasn’t enough sparkle, Omar couldn’t resist adding a touch of bling with his $39,000 Talisman cocktail ring from De Beers, because why not make a statement while you’re at it?
DAMSON IDRIS: Damson Idris elevated his ensemble with a touch of serpentine sophistication, adorning his lapel with a High Jewelry Serpenti brooch in yellow and white gold, complete with two pear emeralds.
JEFF GOLDBLUM: Jumping on the three-pin brooch trend with flair was Jeff Goldblum. He adorned his lapel with Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany designs, including their iconic ‘Bird On A Rock’ featuring an unmissable 52-carat green beryl. Adding to the ensemble was a Vrille brooch with 20 round purple sapphires and 137 round brilliant diamonds, alongside a ‘Ribbons Drop’ pin adorned with diamonds and a central natural saltwater cream pearl weighing over 16 carats. Goldblum sure knows how to pin down a look with style!
ODELL BECKHAM JR.: Odell Beckham Jr. made waves at the Met Gala with Verdura’s eye-catching Seahorse brooch stealing the spotlight.
ADRIEN BRODY: Brody had heads turning with his Elsa Jin brooch and it isn’t the first time wearing the jewelry designer’s epic creations.
DWYANE WADE: At first glance, we mistook Dwayne Wade’s accessory for a necklace elegantly draped over his shoulder. But upon closer inspection, it revealed itself to be none other than a watch from Cartier! The Libre Polymorph shoulder jewelry watch, designed to sit on the shoulder, is a masterpiece of yellow gold, quartz, sapphires, emeralds, turquoise, and diamonds.
BARRY KEOGHAN: Saltburn’s Barry Keoghan turned heads at the Met Gala in a 19th-century-inspired look, rocking a velvet three-piece suit adorned with David Yurman pins—and yes, one of them was a wolf’s head! Plus, he didn’t just settle for one watch; he went for three
ANDREW SCOTT: The Netflix’s Ripley star, Andrew Scott, shared with Esquire magazine how his Met Gala look aligns with this year’s dress code, ‘The Garden of Time’.
According to Scott, it was all about the accessories. “We’re doing jewelry from Boucheron. We’ve got these intricately made insect brooches that look incredible – they’ll look like they’ve landed on my shoulder. It’s all very playful.”
Those brooches – a set of bee pins paved with diamonds on yellow and pink gold dating back to 1948 from Boucheron’s private collection.
He confessed to the mag that wearing such fine jewelry does make him anxious. “I have to be really careful – I don’t want to lose any of these insects, or someone to smoosh me thinking there’s a [real] wasp on my shoulder.” At least it would be a story, right?”
He topped his look with a Boucheron Fern necklace, all in yellow gold, from 1956, and gold rings from his mother.
ROSS MATHEWS: E! Met Gala red carpet correspondent Ross Mathews made a bold statement with an array of vibrant David Webb brooches adorning the length of his lapel. With so many dazzling choices, it was difficult to pick a favorite, but the ‘Bird Of Paradise’ brooch stole the spotlight. Featuring a cabochon star sapphire, carved emerald, and ruby leaves, this masterpiece, valued at a cool $128,000, emerged as our top pick.
CHARLIE HUNNAM: Not only is he handsome but he’s right on trend by opting out of the traditional bowtie at the Gala with his combination of a diamond and onyx Art Deco brooch and diamond and pearl platinum necklace, both from Neil Lane Couture.
