Jeremy Scott Pays Tribute to New York City with Moschino’s Pre-Fall 2020 Collection

Moschino designer Jeremy Scott decided to pay tribute to New York City with the label’s Pre-Fall 2020 collection. Fresh off the runway from the brand’s SS20 collection with artist Pablo Picasso as muse, the designer has delved into the streets of NYC’s urban-cool style with giant  XL accessories that included chunky chain and nameplate necklaces that would rival any rapper’s collection, bamboo hoops, huge peace sign and boombox pendants mixed with oversize Rolex watches.

According to WWD, Jeremy stated “I have never had a Moschino show in New York besides H&M and I thought there would be nothing more quintessential New York than the subway,” said Scott, who lived in the city when he attended Pratt Institute. “I love all the people and characters you experience and the way it’s a melting pot of style. When I was in school, I remember the subway being a spotlight when you were dressed up, because it’s very brightly lit. It’s already like a runway.”

“New York is the city that never sleeps,’” Scott writes in his show notes. “With that in mind, I wanted to offer a little bit of everything. Around-the-clock set of ensembles for city girls and guys who aren’t afraid to go from the ballroom to the back room, then watch the sun come up over the East River.”

MOSCHINO:  Bold 80s jewels that included earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings all looked like they were hastily conceived with a few dashes and squiggles of a Magic Marker from designer Jeremy Scott. Fast fashion was how he described the collection according to WWD. “The fashion system has sped up so much that, this time, I didn’t have time to finish my work,” Scott teased backstage before the show. “All I have to show is my sketches.” Moschino SS19 RTW jewelry detailsMoschino SS19 RTW jewelry detailsMoschino SS19 RTW jewelry detailsMoschino SS19 RTW jewelry detailsMoschino SS19 RTW jewelry detailsMoschino SS19 RTW jewelry detailsMoschino SS19 RTW jewelry detailsMoschino SS19 RTW jewelry detailsMoschino SS19 RTW jewelry detailsMoschino SS19 RTW jewelry detailsMoschino SS19 RTW jewelry detailsPRADA:  Devoid of earrings and necklaces, it was all about the wrist at the SS19 RTW Prada show.
