While it was all about pearls, feathers, and crystals at NYFW the jewelry vibe at London Fashion Week for the Fall 2020 season took a completely different turn. Bold acrylic sculptural earrings were spotted alongside huge statement rings and pearlescent earrings.
PLASTIC FANTASTIC AT PREEN
Preen designers Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi tapped founder Florence Tétier of Tetier Bijoux to create a wonderful collection of eye-catching and colorful sculptural jewels created by upcycled goods that are handmade in Paris.
BEATON HOMAGE FROM ERDEM
According to WWD.com Erdem Moralioglu returned to the National Portrait Gallery with a lavish, embellished collection that took its cues from the young Cecil Beaton. The collection was an homage to Beaton’s glam, aristo looks and was nothing less than rich, with more pearls, brocade, glossy surfaces, and silvery shine than in the closets of Buckingham and Kensington palaces combined.
HALPERN’S CRYSTAL POWER
It all started with a photograph by Gianni Penati for Vogue in 1968 according to Vogue.com. The designer tapped makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench to recreate that powerful crystal infused makeup look for his models to wear down the catwalk. Halpern complemented the look with several eye-catching rings from New York-based jewelry designer Iradj Moini.

WELL ADORNED AT SIMONE ROCHA
Rocha continues her wildly successful line of earrings (see last season’s pearl chandeliers infused with silver spikes ) with a punch of color. Drippy pearl linear earrings were mixed with dark ruby red, black, and mauve long beaded chandelier earrings that had a dramatic gothic feel to them.
