SCHIAPARELLI: Schiaparelli’s Fall 2023 Couture jewelry just took surrealism to a whole new level! Anatomical toes made a cheeky return, winking at tradition, while gilded ears turned into show-stopping coat clasps – because why not adorn yourself from head to toe? This season, it’s all about embracing your inner art connoisseur. Picture this: 24k gold leaf with the visage of a Schiaparelli artisan, turning accessories into wearable masterpieces. Brooches and cuffs channel the cherished shapes of Claude Lalanne, offering a tasteful twist on sculptural elegance. And if you’re a fan of fine art, you’re in for a treat: Daniel Roseberry’s collection nods to luminaries like Lucian Freud and Yves Klein, with bold volumes inspired by Klein’s iconic cobalt blue. But the pièce de résistance? Wooden beaded arms and necklaces evoke artist’s mannequins and Alberto Giacometti sculptures, turning the runway into a whimsical art gallery. Schiaparelli has once again redefined adornment, proving that when it comes to jewelry, there are no limits – only artistic imagination.

JEAN PAUL GAULTIER:  In the whirlwind of less than three years, Jean Paul Gaultier’s guest designer program has turned fashion on its head, spawning some of the most buzzworthy and viral haute couture moments. This time, all eyes are fixed on Paco Rabanne’s creative director, Julien Dossena. In an interview with Vogue.com, he unveiled his vision: “I wanted a feeling of characters you pass in the street in Paris and I wanted to make all of them queens, each with a different crown.”

Dossena’s masterstroke of blending equality with diversity was nothing short of genius – adorning his Parisian “characters” with diadems and jeweled circlets they might’ve stumbled upon at a market. From haute couture renditions of laurel wreaths to a nod to neo-classical statues dotting the cityscape, Dossena turned the sidewalks of Paris into a runway of regal rebels. The result? A spectacle that proves, in the realm of fashion, every street corner can birth a queen, and every diadem, a crown for the taking.

Jewelry Details From Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture Collection

Welcome to the wonderful Surrealist world of Daniel Roseberry. Schiaparelli’s artistic director delved into the brand’s archives and created a treasure trove of eccentric pearl festooned jewelry for the brand’s Spring 2020 Couture collection. Daniel looked at Schiap’s 1930s friends and collaborators, according to Vogue.com  such as Alberto Giacometti for the skeletal jewels and rhinestone “bone” embellishments and revived the eye-shaped brooch Cocteau designed for the house in 1937 as frames for coquettish brass eyewear and earrings according to the NY Times.Jewelry details from Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture CollectionJewelry details from Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture CollectionJewelry details from Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture CollectionJewelry details from Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture CollectionJewelry details from Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture CollectionJewelry details from Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture CollectionJewelry details from Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture Collection Schiaparelli’s favorite flower, the iris appeared on the runway alongside house icons such as the padlock and giant oversized signature letter ‘S’ earrings and brooches as well as quirky fly and Venus flytrap earrings.Jewelry details from Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture CollectionJewelry details from Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture Collectionhttps://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/20/t-magazine/schiaparelli-couture-jewelry.htmlJewelry details from Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture CollectionJewelry details from Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture CollectionJewelry details from Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture CollectionJewelry details from Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture Collectionhttps://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/20/t-magazine/schiaparelli-couture-jewelry.html But what was the designer’s favorite piece amongst the collection? According to the NY Times, it was the choker made from faux pearls and brass casts of teeth — each one embellished with diamond cavities — that resembled an Edwardian ruffled collar in shape. “It’s our demented version of the iconic pearl necklace,” he said with a grin, “To me, this is like, ‘straight to the museum.’”https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/20/t-magazine/schiaparelli-couture-jewelry.htmlSo who attended the show? JEWELS FROM THE RUNWAY: Jewelry Details from Schiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture Collection

Creative director Bertrand Guyon was inspired by a little tidbit from Schiaparelli’s autobiography for the house’s Spring 2019 couture collection . According to the book when Elsa Schiaparelli was a little girl her uncle Giovanni, a renowned astronomer, compared the beauty marks on Elsa’s cheek to the stars forming Ursa Major. That comparison set off an obsession of all things astrological and years later she would commission a brooch in the shape of a constellation as her own personal talisman. Bertand’s twist on her starry obsession resulted in jewels that featured huge acryllic star earrings and magical ear cuffs that resembled shooting stars.Schiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsSchiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsSchiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsSchiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsSchiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsSchiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsSchiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsSchiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsSchiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsSchiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsKat Graham was present at the show and wore the label’s black and white glove hand brooches and bracelets from the Man Ray collection.
