Consider this your backstage pass to Spring 2021’s most coveted jewelry trends from Milan Fashion Week.
VALENTINO’S SINGLE STATEMENT
Monkeys are so last season! Designer Pierpaolo Piccioli tapped the panther as Valentino’s latest Spring 2021 mascot by carving the beloved jungle cat out of coral and jade and then adorning it in gold, rhinestones, and pearls to create one wild and single statement earring.
RAFFIA MANIA AT LE DOUBLE J
Take your vacation jewelry style to the next level with the Italian house’s epic multi-colored raffia wrapped gems. These fun and flirty fringe hoops and cute crochet micro pouch pendants can make a girl dream about being on vacation under the palm trees next summer!
FLOWER POWER AT DOLCE & GABBANA
The ultimate Spring accessory? The flower! It was a bonafide garden party at Dolce & Gabbana. Models bloomed from ear to neck with larger than life statement earrings and chokers festooned with bold and colorful flowers.
GIORGIO ARMANI’S BOLD MOVES
A change from last season’s homage to Mother Nature’s natural elements, their colors, and movements, Armani brought forth muted colored, chunky bold metallic and geometric gems that had us wishing the 80s were back.
DAY-GLO AT VERSACE
As an ode to brother Gianni Versace’s ‘trésor de la Mer’ collection from Spring 1992 Donatella resurfaced the starfish design and incorporated it alongside the brand’s beloved Medusa motif to create eye-popping neon lime, orange, and hot pink pendants, charm bracelets, and earrings that are sure to heat up your wardrobe.
INTO THE DEEP WITH ALBERTA FERRETTI
Ferretti has us diving deep into a fantasy world of seashells – a perennial favorite of the Spring/Summer season. But these aren’t your mini shell anklets or surfer cowrie shell necklaces. Ferretti goes bold with striped and spotted conch-shaped shells topped with gold caps which are fused with hoops and chains to create stunning statement pieces.
GINKO SYMBOLISM AT PORTS 1961
The ginkgo leaf sprouted amongst the jewels on the runway at Ports 1961 Spring 2021 show. Perhaps creative director Karl Templer chose it for its meaning –resilience, hope, peace, love, magic, timelessness, and long life – as a powerful symbol we so desperately need during these troubling times.
TAKE A CHANCE ON FENDI
Roll the dice and take a chance! Head jewelry designer Marco Panconesi tapped into his creative juices to design a line of fun and cheeky cube-shaped gems covered with words like pasta, drink, and dance alongside the brand’s name. Pendants comprise of a pair of dice housed in its own gold cage – ready for its owner to toss into the air and decide if it’s time to dance or down a drink.
Rita Ora was on hand for the show wearing the brand’s famous FF plexiglass earrings.
