JEWELS FROM THE RUNWAY: Jewelry Details from Schiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture Collection

Creative director Bertrand Guyon was inspired by a little tidbit from Schiaparelli’s autobiography for the house’s Spring 2019 couture collection . According to the book when Elsa Schiaparelli was a little girl her uncle Giovanni, a renowned astronomer, compared the beauty marks on Elsa’s cheek to the stars forming Ursa Major. That comparison set off an obsession of all things astrological and years later she would commission a brooch in the shape of a constellation as her own personal talisman. Bertand’s twist on her starry obsession resulted in jewels that featured huge acryllic star earrings and magical ear cuffs that resembled shooting stars.Schiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsSchiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsSchiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsSchiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsSchiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsSchiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsSchiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsSchiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsSchiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsSchiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture detailsKat Graham was present at the show and wore the label’s black and white glove hand brooches and bracelets from the Man Ray collection.
